Psalm 119 is one of my favorite Psalms and its theme is  love for the Word of God. It is an acrostic poem and has 176 verses. These verses are divided into 22 stanzas. One stanza for every letter of the Hebrew alphabet, for example: The first word of the first 8 verses start with an aleph אָ the next 8 begin with a Bet ב, etc.

Psalm 119:1 How blessed are those whose way is blameless, Who walk in the law of the LORD.

When you take a look at this verse in the original Hebrew scripture we see an “archers motif”.

Blessed: “Ashar” אַשְׁרֵ֥י  can also mean: To be guided in a straight accurate manner.
Way: “Derek” דָ֑רֶךְ  can also mean:To bend the arrow: metaphorically to bend the tongue like a bow.
Blameless: “Tamam” תְמִֽימֵי  can also mean: finish, complete…won’t fall short
Law: “Torah” בְּתוֹרַ֥ת  can also mean: To shoot an arrow

“chata” sin: is to miss the mark

Walking in holiness according to the Word and by the grace of God enables us to hit the mark every time. What is the bullseye? For me it’s knowing Jesus, loving Him with my whole heart, and fulfilling all His will in order to bring pleasure to His heart.  Rom 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. The word “end” here does not mean the abolishment or termination of God’s teachings and instructions (Torah/Law) it is the Greek word “Telos” which means aim or goal. It is where we get our word telescope which brings things up close so that we can see it clearly. Understanding the law will be  vividly seen in the life of Jesus. Matt.5:17 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. Blessed are those who walk in Jesus’ footsteps.
