• RETURN TO THE ABBEY DIARY ENTRY #1 Isaiah 52:4: “Behold the former things have come to pass and new things do I declare, before they spring forth I tell you of them.” I leave for my second visit to the Abbey in three years to spend a week in silence.  I am facing new beginnings,

  •   Proverbs 15:25 “The Lord will destroy the house of the proud, but he will establish the border of the widows.   I find it curious that the word used for widow is almah which is often used for a virgin.  In this case this woman is not really a virgin if she is widow.

  • Isaiah 52:4: “Behold the former things have come to pass and new things do I declare, before they spring forth I tell you of them.”   Judging from the mail I get it appears I am not the only one looking forward to some new things. People of all ages have written to me talking

  • (PLEASE NOTE: TOMORROW I LEAVE FOR MY WEEK OF SILENCE, UNLESS THINGS HAVE CHANGED SINCE MY LAST VISIT TO THE ABBEY I WILL HAVE NO INTERNET CONNECTION.  HOWEVER, I WILL KEEP A JOURNAL AND IF THERE IS A WAY I CAN SEND OUT MY DAILY ENTRIES I WILL DO SO.  IF NOT I SHALL RESUME

  • Malachi 3:6: “For I [am] the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”   I have a friend who is convinced that we are about to hear the final Trump.  That’s Donald Trump.  I have yet to hear the jokes being made that compare Donald Trump to the Biblical Trump

  •   “Numbers 12:3: “And the man Moses was very humble above all the men  which were upon the face of the earth.”   When I was a student at Moody Bible Institute, my roommate and I had a friend, named Kanechi,  who attended the Illinois Institute of Technology.  He would often come to Moody to

  • Matthew 18:19-20: Again I say unto you that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.  For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst.”   The
