•   Genesis 4:9 “And the Lord said unto Cain, where is Abel thy brother? And he said: I know not, am I my brother’s keeper?”   There are a number of aspects to this story that has always bothered me.  Well, not the story, but the way it is translated.  From our English translation it

  •   Psalm 14:3: “They are all gone aside, they are altogether become filthy, there is none that doeth good, no not one.”   I remember in Bible College I had a class on “How To Study the Bible.” Our instructor told us that we should read the Bible like we read a love letter. We

  • Job 27:3: “All the while my breath is within me, the Spirit of God is in my nostrils.”   “Age is an issue of mind over matter, if you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter” – Mark Twain   Every commentary I read on this verse says something different.  The less academic the commentary the more

  •   Exodus 15:1: “They sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spake saying, I will sing unto the Lord.” Vs. 2: “The Lord is my strength and song, and he has become my salvation.”   This is a very curious passage of Scripture.  First the verse says that Moses

  •   Ecclesiastes 12:14: “Because God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.”   It is interesting that the word for God has an article in front of it. It should be The God.   The word for God is haelohim which is referring to one who has

  •   Matthew 2:11:  “And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.”   (Commercial break) I know it is ten weeks or 72 days

  • Exodus 15:23: “And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter, therefore the name of it was Marah.”   There is the story of a woman who did everything to try and please her husband, but he managed to find fault with everything she did.

  •   Ezekiel 18:31 “Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby you have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit; for why will ye die, O House of Israel?”   At this point I am not sure just what transgressions are but I know they are bad and I don’t want

  • Jeremiah 48:10:  “Cursed [be] he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed [be] he that keepeth back his sword from blood.”   I recall as a small child in grammar school the day Alan Shepherd flew into space.  Our teacher brought a television into our classroom and we watched what seemed hours

  • Jeremiah 48:7:  “For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou shalt also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity [with] his priests and his princes together.”   Chapter 48 of Jeremiah speaks of the burden of Moab. Moab does not exist today but there are numerous archaeological findings
